So I bought this lamp a few days ago and so far I'm really impressed. The glass dome that the ferrofluid is in is very large and so you can see the ferrofluid move from a wide range of angles. The box it arrived in also has a bunch of foam padding for protection and whilst the box was a little dented the actual product arrived safely.
The ferrofluid moves as much as I was expecting, although it varies significantly with music choice and I think using the aux-in may provide better results. there appears to be an air bubble in my unit which makes a brown spot at the top of the dome, this is apparently pretty common with ferrofluid lamps though as it's hard to seal the glass with zero bubbles. I might design a little cover to block it with plastic or something.
All in though I'm very impressed, and thought this product needed a review so that other people might buy one in the future.
